Arc-Rated Gloves

Insulating rubber gloves are separated into categories according to the voltage that the gloves can be exposed to. ASTM Glove Classes are 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4, which correspond to increasing voltage applications.

Leather protectors are required to be worn over insulating rubber gloves to meet arc protection requirements. They also protect the rubber gloves from damage that could compromise the gloves’ insulating properties and put a worker at risk of shock injury.

Insulating rubber gloves are separated into six classes, each based on the voltage level the gloves protect against. The classes are color-coded and can be quickly identified based on the glove's colored tag.
