Note on Older Labels and Hazard/Risk Categories

Older labels on equipment or clothing may make reference to the "Hazard/Risk Category" or HRC. This term was eliminated with the 2015 edition of NFPA 70E and replaced with the terms "PPE Category"; "Arc-rated PPE Category"; or simply "PPE Level." Also note editions of NFPA 70E prior to 2015 included a Category 0, for garments made from non-melting or untreated natural fiber that are not arc-rated. This category was eliminated in 2015.
